It is very easy for many of us to fall into the depths of comparison-itis, anxiety, and depression.  This is something that I can relate to on a very personal level and am learning how to overcome.  One thing I have found very important on this journey has been to find a love for myself, and that is what this shawl is all about.

To encourage you to foster your self-love, I have designed this shawl with an urgent message to do something special for yourself.  That may be knitting a project for yourself, splurging on some fancy yarn (like this yarn that I used with 10% cashmere!), or adorning yourself in an elegant outfit with your favorite hand knit.  Whatever self-care means to you, do it for yourself.  Love yourself and show yourself that you care.

This pattern is written as a 1-skein shawl and as a 2-skein shawl.  It is easy to customize.

This design was created as a collaboration with Marianated Yarns.  If you have the means, I highly recommend checking out her amazing colorway options!  You can find some of my favorites on my Love Yourself Shawl Color Inspiration blog post.  For more information regarding this shawl design, please visit my Love Yourself Shawl Design Inspiration blog post.

1 skein version (2 skein version)

Finished Width: 58 (80) inches/ 147 (203) centimeters

Finished Length: 16 (22) inches/ 41 (56) centimeters

400 (800) yards/ 100 (200) grams of Fingering Weight Yarn

Designed using Marianated Yarns Scrumptious HT yarn in Rose Quartz colorway.

18 stitches, 32 rows = 4 inches/10 centimeters in stockinette stitch

Note: the gauge is not crucial to the success of the pattern, and your blocking can drastically change the gauge/dimensions of your knit.  However, if your gauge is too tight for the yarn that you are using, you may find that your shawl takes more of a triangular shape than a crescent shape.

US 2 / 2.75 mm knitting needles, long enough to hold a shawl

Darning needle

(2) Stitch markers

Progress keeper, optional

This design is comprised of a very simple lace heart motif, perfect for a beginner wanting to try lace knitting!

I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of my test knitters!
