Henrietta Silverdale Cowl
Textured lace in worsted wool - the Henrietta Silverdale cowl is distinctive, pretty and practical.
Henrietta is worked in one piece in the round, meaning that every row is worked from the right side. The detailed design uses wrapped stitches, twists and lace to create a fascinating path from the base to the top of the cowl.
The pattern has both full charts and line by line written instructions. The sizing is adaptable and the cowl can be made longer, taller or shorter as desired.
This pattern is best suited for use with solid colour or tonal yarns.
The design is inspired by Henrietta Silverdale, the heroine of the Georgette Heyer novel Charity Girl. Henrietta is practical with a lurking sense of humour and a softer side. She is first discovered in her garden, shown in this cowl by the twisting trellis and branching leaves of the lace.
