Colour pooling is used to achieve the vertical blocks of colour.
I call this the DaVinci Cowl because once you “crack the code” for the number of stitches you need to produce the colour pooling you are set to go.
The pattern will explain how to find your personal code number, uniquely yours and this technique can be applied to any yarn that has the ability to pool.
You will know how to unlock the code with any needle size as well.
I used a 4mm for this project but please note if your yarn is thinner sock yarn you may want to go down to a 3.5mm or even a 3mm depending on your tension. SweetGeorgia is on the thicker side.
This is a fun project and a great way to dive into the fun of colour pooling with one skein of a beautiful hand dyed yarn. Each cowl will be uniquely yours!
The cowl is approx. 7" x 54" and can be worn as a single long loop or doubled. It is also simple enough to make a shorter cowl by using less repeats of your "code" number.
There is an additional PDF that I have compiled of frequently asked questions. I will be happy to email you this PDF (with proof of purchase of the DaVinci Cowl pattern).
