Cheyenne Cabled Cardigan #197
This cardigan is worked in one piece from the bottom to the armholes, then the fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders. The sleeves are worked flat from the bottom up, then sewn in. The openings for the optional pockets are placed while working the body, then the pocket linings are worked before blocking.
The cable pattern is presented in both written and charted formats.

Model knit in Plymouth Yarn Encore Chunky (75% acrylic, 25% wool; 100 grams / 143 yards): color #6007 (MC). Optional pocket linings knit in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock (80% superwash wool, 20% nylon; 100 grams / 430 yards): Berry (CC).

Gauges: In Garter Rib, 17 stitches and 22 rows = 4"/10 cm using MC and larger needle, blocked. Note: To work a gauge swatch, work Garter Rib with 5 stitches in Reverse Stockinette stitch on either side of Garter Rib; measure across the center 17 stitches to check gauge. 16-stitch Cable Panel measures 2.75"/7 cm wide using MC and larger needle, blocked. In Stockinette stitch, 39 stitches and 48 rows = 4"/10 cm using CC and smaller double-pointed needles, blocked.
