Aviarium : From Avis (bird) and Arium (a place for)….Everywhere I went I was seeing birdcages! The garden center was selling them for placing your own plants in; the supermarket had them prefilled with moss and succulents. Every home décor catalog I saw had one! I wanted one, too, but as I lack the ability to keep many plants alive, I decided to knit my own birdcage filled with flowers and vines. This top down shawl combines the two shawl shapes I love most, top down wedge with some half-pi shaping and a flows from one to the other ending with an applied border.
